Well well well!!!

How are you lovely people doing? Well, I'm at a concert right now at the Cafe...one of those screamo concerts. So I decided to come and blog...I just took a quiz about the 5 love languages. Guess what my results were?

#1 - Acts of Service--You prefer to show your love through favors and chores and doing things for others. You feel put-upon and unappreciated when your efforts are taken for granted.

#2 - Gifts--You are moved by presents and physical tokens of affection. It's the fact that someone is thinking about you enough to give you something that moves you. The objects are of secondary importance to the relationship and sentiment with which they were intended.

#3 - Words of Affirmation--You need to hear praise to know you are loved and you may also prefer to express your affection verbally. Negative comments cut right to the bone. You want to hear that you're loved and how much and why.

#4 - Quality Time--This can be expressed either through those intimate tete-a-tete discussions or via doing things together. It's possible to get a low score in this category because you have a strong preference for one form of Quality Time over another.

#5 - Touch--You want to give and/or receive affection physically. This may or may not center around sex.

That's pretty crazy!!! Well if you would like to check it out here's the website:

This thing called brokenness

Hey everyone! How are y'all doing? The semester is almost over and people are on edge...what a great time!!! LOL

Anyways I just started reading this book called A TALE OF THREE KINGS and so far it's really good. It lays this foundation about David then moves into King Saul, the cruel king. There is a question that is put out there: What do you do when spears are being thrown at you? The expected thing is to dodge 'em, pick 'em up, and throw 'em back. But the right answer is to get stabbed to death. Shocking I know, but when you look at it from a spiritual perspective David was being speared for many years (a period of brokenness) to eventually die to himself.

It's mentioned in Chapter 9 that we have our eyes fixed on the wrong King Saul...there is one much worse. God is looking at the King Saul in you. Surprising....we never of it that way but it's true. Once God weeds out all those impurities you are barely recognizable; your personality is totally different. It's a long process for some but the it's all worth it in the end. Well, I have a get back to reading the book...until next time

First few days of school

Hello everyone! Man it's been while since I last posted a blog entry, sorry about that but school has started and I don't know how I'm gonna keep everyone up to date with everything. I'll find a way don't worry.

It's the first week of school and things are crazy.....first of all before school even started the university dropped all of my classes because financial aid was still reviewing my papers and the day to pay for any tuition payments had passes. So I had to wait until my registration appointment opened up then re-schedule my classes (I didn't get same time, but that's cool), then go back to get my deferment. Now my classes are okay but I'm a lil nervous.

On to another subject: SOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo last Thursday something amazing happened to me. I've experienced only 2 life-changing events in my life, the 1st one being the decision to become a christian & God radically transforming my heart and the 2nd one is my mom's illness. But now I have another one to add to the list......and this one is very exciting. Are you ready for this?

I AM NOW IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH Jacob D'Avy!!!!!!!!

Some people might be shocked (like the face at the beginning of this sentence) and others are just happy for us. Me and my guy are taking it slow and learning more and more about each other. One of our favorite sayings is "It's funny how things happen!".........it really is. So there's the update and God bless.

Dry and Thirsty

Hello everybody! It's been a while seen my last blog........sorry about that, just trying to collect my thoughts. Well, yesterday church was awesome......it always seems to amaze me how God can reveal himself in a very compelling way. As David lead worship he started singing:

"We thirst for you, we search for you
In a dry and barren land, we're longing for your hand
To guide us to, a place where you
Can cleanse us with your rain, baptize us once again
We thirst for you"

and from then on everything just started flowing together. Pastor Tommy prayed for healing in every area of your body and when he said "oh put your hand on your neck if you need a healing in that area" I put the smack down on my neck. Then there was a word of prophecy that basically said: "I (God) am coming back...until then just let go, give everything up.....you're holding back so much stuff, now is the time. Now that's paraphrase but hopefully you get the idea.

Relating that to me: The Fall '06 semester is about to start and I'm so exciting, but I'm a little scared about the new responsibilities that I will have. Don't take this the wrong way......I'm thrilled to be helping out with all of the ministries, but I don't want to ..........ummmmm............ okay what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to disappoint anybody. I struggle so much with that.........cause I know that dealing w/ life there's gonna be mess-ups and failures, but I have very high expectation in different areas of my life.

*SIDE NOTE*

DID YOU KNOW THAT LIFE IS GREAT? :)

Anyways I know that everything will work out......it always does!!! Do you have anything that you're nervous about for this Fall semester?

Come on leave me a comment! Until next time remember that Jesus is Lord!

Leaders do the right things

"Reputation is made in a moment. Character is built in a lifetime." --> James Leggett

2nd Minute Motivators for Leaders:

The next reading is about Character. "Leaders of character are more concerned with doing the right thing than they are in doing things right." Personal, I've found that people (me included) want to be leaders but they don't have the right motives or intentions. Along with not having the right motives you sometimes don't have the right approach or method. In the end, the great leader is not the person who can simply get the job done. It is the person who knows how to link motives with methods. "Leadership that makes a difference includes a personal willingness to do the right thing. It's not easy but life in general in not easy. Well, until the next entry, try to encourage and uplift some people today.

Leaders rub shoulders with great leaders.

"Anyone who influences others is a leader." --> Chuck Swindoll

Today I started reading this book called Minute Motivators for Leaders. The first reading starts off with Association and this great line, "If we are known by the company we keep, then the company we keep ought to inspire and invigorate us to greatness." I don't know about you but sometimes I wonder if the people that I fellowship with is really helping me in my christian walk or pushing me back. Just a little food for thought on this wonderful day. Until the next entry, remember that love is the foundation of all your relationships.

The way things happen

It's crazy the way some things happen......you could have a plan, have everything mapped out, a "perfect " agenda....but when God starts to put his plan into action and it's not what you expected........ well let's just say that it's not always a happy situation. Oh but don't be discouraged because everything happens for a reason. Someone once told me that if you plan out your life, not expecting any unplanned events or situations, you should prepare yourself for stumbles, failures, and brick walls........because God works in mysterious ways. Not saying that you won't accomplish somethings don't try to do it on your own (in your own strength). It's good to have dreams and desires but make sure you always seek God about it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Romans 8:25 says:
"But if we look forward to something we don't have yet, we must wait patiently and confidently." (NLT)

Sometimes we can never see a vision or even a purpose for our lives, because we don't have that unshakeable faith.........like it says in the scripture above we have to wait patiently and confidently not anxious and hopeless.

I don't know who this is for but I pray that it helps somebody. I love you guys I hope that you are having a wonderful summer.

Until next blog keep it real Lou-seal,

Another boring day.....but before that come excitement!!!

Well, my day started off with me being tired......I wanted to go to work at 9 and I didn't go until 11:45; plus I have a night class tonight which means I have to miss TNL again. This work-arrangement isn't working out. I really wish I didn't have to do night classes.

Anyways last night Clint cooked the house dinner..... it was meatloaf, mac & cheese, and corn. It was really good & I was a little surprised (and dinner didn't start until about 8:30...WOW) but after dinner (as we normally do) we sat around talking and clowning and it was just great. Later after cleaning up we moved to the living area, where Ken was performing some "string tricks". Well, Stacey got a little irratated and said, "Amanda, please tell Ken to stop showing me his birdie on a string." Everything said from then on was funny (because it was right around 11pm).

Then we told a couple of stories from last semester and we eventually got on the subject of how women should be submissive or "slaves" to their husbands......... and Lane made a comment to basically suck up to the ladies in the room (me, Amanda, and Stacey), "Women are precious jews that should be treasured!!!" WOOH that was a good one LANE!!!!

This went on for a few more minutes then the guys started wrestling and the ladies cleared out.....off to bed because it had been a long day....but I'll save that long day for another blog. So until the next blog keep it real.

Don't forget to Holla-back,

The New Beginning

Hello everyone! Along with this new blog account I am also starting a new chapter in my life. It consist of moving away from home and into the Chi Alpha dorms. That was a big leap but it had to be made. With my new home I get to fellowship with alot more people, one of them being Charly (codename) LOL, my rootmate. More details late but for now I'll leave you with a scripture:

Pro. 13:20

"He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed."

With that being said I would just like to thank those who have imported wisdom into my life....
April and Amanda, my sis Hope, and there's more but I'll save those for later. Until next blog stay true to your commitments and beliefs.

Oh and don't forget to holla-back with a comment,
